Recently, after the successful conclusion of the 145th Singapore INTA Annual Conference, Mr. Chen Bing, General Manager of ANDU & PARTNERS, accompanied a delegation from the China Trademark Association to Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia in ASEAN RCEP countries. He visited the Malaysian Intellectual Property Office, and the Director of the Malaysian Intellectual Property Office and relevant department heads warmly received visiting members of the China Trademark Association.

The Malaysian Intellectual Property Office (MyIPO) was independently established in 2003 and is a subsidiary of the Malaysian Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumer Security (MDTCC). It is responsible for regulating the intellectual property system in Malaysia and effectively managing various intellectual property rights. In terms of intellectual property protection, Malaysia is one of the ASEAN member countries with a relatively complete intellectual property protection system, second only to Singapore in terms of intellectual property protection. According to the Malaysian Intellectual Property Office, China ranks second in the number of trademark registrations in Malaysia, second only to the United States, and ranks first in authorized registrations in Malaysia.

Malaysia is one of the countries along the "the Belt and Road" strategy and an important foreign trade partner of China. According to statistics, China has become Malaysia's largest trading partner for 14 consecutive years. As one of the most attractive retail markets in the world, Malaysia is also a popular choice for Chinese companies to develop their market and actively engage in trademark registration.

In order to strengthen communication with the Malaysian Intellectual Property Organization and promote cooperation between China and ASEAN RCEP countries in the field of trademarks, the visiting delegation of the China Trademark Association and the Malaysian reception personnel held a symposium. The two sides provided a detailed introduction and exchange on their respective intellectual property systems, with a particular focus on exchanging information on trademark registration and protection in recent years. The Malaysian side stated that in Malaysia, trademarks, patents, copyrights, industrial designs, geographical indications, etc. will be protected by relevant laws. In the future, the Malaysian Intellectual Property Office will also further promote the improvement of intellectual property related legal systems, providing solid legal protection for foreign enterprises entering Malaysia.

This visit and exchange activity further expands the exchange and cooperation between China and Malaysia in terms of intellectual property rights, and will effectively promote Chinese enterprises to achieve high-quality "going global". In addition, Andu will firmly grasp the opportunities for international exchange and cooperation in the field of intellectual property, providing professional legal services for Chinese enterprises to "go global" and foreign enterprises to "bring in".
